Three women from three generations – grandmother, mother and daughter. Each of the women has her own approach to addressing her Jewish descent and questions of identity and home. It’s no surprise that this constellation produces quite a few sparks. Regardless of the form of their communication, their words in conversations and letters are filled with directness, humor and warmth.
Marianna Salzmann has written a sharp-tongued play addressing many large and small themes, an homage to Jewish humor, motherly hate and mother wit, which often knows more than it says. (John von Düffel)
