Intervention, collective sculpture, civil society project
Studio Ukraine invited artists and musicians displaced by the war in Ukraine to meet the Berlin art scene and work on common ideas, concepts and artistic interventions. In the participatory workshops, a collective sculpture was developed: a landscape of interwoven carpets that stretched across the pavement in front of Haus der Statistik, in the center of Berlin. At the opening the installation became the stage for artistic and musical performances.
The group was founded at Haus der Statistik during the first months of the war and has now found a permanent workspace in Hotel Continental for workshops and collaborative work. The collective sculpture develops further, the group grows and more interventions take place. In January 2023 the group was invited to Between Bridges Gallery Berlin.
